Dior’s new Forever Foundation came in 67 unique shades, providing many choices for consumers. For their social media campaign, they partnered with 67 different influencers who each matched one of the 67 shades that the foundation came in. Dior used a checklist of specific qualities they were looking for in influencers who would promote their brand. Qualities they looked for with this campaign included:

  • Influencers located in key countries where products would be sold, such as the United States, Canada, France, United Kingdom, and Germany.

  • Influencers who posted content in the beauty niche.

Dior was able to find 67 influencers who met their specific requirements and collaborated with them to create social media content for this campaign. 

The Results of the Campaign

The combination of detailed planning and creative delivery led to this campaign being a success. The campaign resulted in:

  • 2.66 million followers targeted
  • 1.85 million impressions
  • 591k engagements
  • 120% increase in engagement on Dior’s social media pages

Dior not only saw success in promoting awareness and hype around their Forever Foundation, but they were also able to build their brand name in the process. As a result of the campaign, consumers who saw posts from influencers also checked Dior’s social media pages and engaged with their content as well. This helped build Dior’s brand as a whole. 

Example #2 - Playstation Virtual Reality Headset Influencer Campaign

Towards the end of the lifecycle of Sony’s Playstation 4 gaming console, they saw a drop in sales after consumers heard that Sony had begun working on the new Playstation 5. For this campaign, Sony wanted to re-engage a niche audience with their products. 

One of the regions where Sony saw a drop in sales was Canada. For this campaign, they partnered with five Canadian influencers on YouTube and Instagram. All the influencers they worked with were nano and micro influencers with less than 100,000 followers. Each influencer was in the gaming niche and had audiences interested in gaming products. 

When creating content for the campaign, Sony encouraged influencers to get creative with their content while promoting the benefits of Playstation’s virtual reality headset. This led to many innovative and engaging posts being created by these influencers. 

The Results of the Campaign

The campaign was successful in reaching the niche audience that Sony was targeting. The campaign resulted in: 

  • Over 1.1 million followers targeted across YouTube and Instagram
  • Over 14,000 likes across both social media platforms
  • Average engagement rates on posts above 3%
